The Audition

Hey, guys! I’m Bubblegum Fashion, and this is my story.
I was always a little mysterious, people said, because my mom passed away five years ago. After that, my dad took me to some person who apparently could see your future and mind, and they were shocked to learn that I had a link to the spiritual world. I was amazed too at first, and was always exploring the spirits of people. I haven’t had many friends ever since.
Like one time, I was at a halloween party of my classmate’s in second grade, and I met this sweet girl called Sally. But when we were asked to play a game of something called the Ouija Board, where we could connect to spirits, I finished it in two seconds, and everybody started thinking I was weird and dangerous. Sally then said, ‘Hey, look at Bubblegum, she’s SUCH a weirdo! Everyone stay away, I bet she kills people! AND talks to spirits!’ Ever since then, people never came close to me, and I hated Halloween because of the games and the spiritual stuff.
Anyway, we shifted, and things were great at my new school. No one knew my secret, AND I had great friends!
Anyway, back to the story..!!
It was Drama class, and our teacher, Miss Parker, introduced a new guy into the school, called Jasper.
We locked eyes, and he smiled at me. Blushing, I turned away. I couldn’t be in love, right?
Then Miss Parker spoke up. ‘Jasper, for the play of Lady And The Tramp, you will be paired with..’ She scanned the room. ‘Bubblegum, come up here, please!’
I was thrilled! I had always wanted to be an actress! And doing it with Jasper..even more fun!!
Jasper brushed his long white ponytail out of his eyes. His sparkling blue eyes lifted up to mine.
‘Hey! Bubblegum, right? That’s a cool name!’
‘Thanks!’ I blushed. We were supposed to be rehearsing, but I found myself staring into his gorgeous blue eyes and admiring the way his long white ponytail fell in soft waves over his shoulders.
OMG! I was madly in love with that guy. At lunch, I was discussing it with my BFF’s, when he pulled out a chair and sat down. OMG! I swear, my BFF’s were STARING like mad!
He turned to me. ‘Hey, Bubblegum! Wanna practice? In the hall?’
I smiled. ‘Sure, Jasper!’
We were finally alone on the stage, and Jasper redid the scene. In the kiss part, he looked pretty flustered too, and gave me a quick peck on the cheek. I smirked. ‘C’mon, Jasper! Do it PROPERLY! And make it beautiful and emotional,’ I grinned. I said it as a joke, but then he shrugged. ‘Sure.’
Then, he leaned closer, and my heart beat a million seconds a minute.
Suddenly, the lights flipped on, and Lisa stood there, narrowing her eyes. But when her menacing green eyes slid to Jasper, she blushed.
‘Hey,’ She said, flirting openly.
‘Oh, um, hey,’ He said, but his eyes never once slid to her.
They were locked on me.
When she grumbled a stream of curses and barged out angrily, Jasper grabbed my arm.
‘Where were he?’ He smiled. ‘Oh, of course!’
When his lips finally met mine, my heart was racing like mad. His gorgeous features lit up. He smiled into the kiss and then twirled me around and around.
‘I wanted to ask you,’ He said, clutching my hand. ‘Will you be my girlfriend, Bubblegum?’
I gaped.
‘I mean, um, if you don’t wanna..’ He stammered.
‘No, silly! Of course, Jasper. I’d love that!’
He beamed, and his beautiful blue eyes glittered. I pulled him in for another kiss, and we were still kissing, when my friends walked in.
Mackenzie giggled. ‘They’re perfect together!’
Nature swooned. ‘Yes, of course they are!’
Lucia laughed. ‘Next up is me!’
