I woke up feeling dizzy, and then panic gripped me as I saw the huge flames engulfing the halls. Suddenly, I spotted Hikari in the midst of it all. She grabbed my arm and we ran.
‘W-What?’ I stuttered.
Hikari sprinted along. ‘We have to evacuate. NOW. There’s a fire.’
Like I didn’t know that! I darted for the exit, where we finally escaped. We ran to where everyone was standing. As soon as my friends saw me, they literally pounced on me, hugging me.
But then I saw it.
Mackenzie.
A wave of envy rushed past her face as Nature hugged me.
I was super confused.
‘Hey, Mackenzie,’ I said, approaching her.
‘Not now, Bubblegum.’ She hissed. ‘Not now.’
I was taken aback.
‘What’s your problem?’ Nature scowled. ‘You’ve been avoiding Bubblegum and me and Lucia a LOT recently. Was it you who started the fire?’
We froze.
Mackenzie burst into tears and ran. I looked at Nature and snarled. ‘Why’d you do that?’
‘I don’t know,’ she whispered, and sat down on the grass.
I sighed. What if Mackenzie did start it? I quickly brushed the thought aside. Why would she do that, anyway?
But little did I know about the drama ahead.

The next day, I walked into school, tired. Lisa was at max annoying, and I wanted to punch her!!
As I was grabbing my books for my next class, I heard Amy and Lisa chatting. RIGHT NEXT TO MY LOCKER!! They didn’t seem to notice me, though, so I hid my head behind my locker door to hear them.
‘Amy,’ Lisa said. ‘Bubblegum still doesn’t know that we set Mackenzie up and that I was behind the fire incident. Finally, they’ll break up! Bubblegum thinks it’s the fire. STILL! I just used Mackenzie’s anger at Bubblegum as an advantage. But now they’ll think she started the fire, and not be friends with her. And so won’t Marcus! So I can FINALLY have him!’ I heard the smirk in her voice.
‘You’re a genius, Lisa!’ Amy gushed.
How DARE they! Little did they know, I’d recorded the whole thing!! But why was Mackenzie mad at me?!
However, my friends were still SUPER mad at Mackenzie, and if the truth didn’t come out, god knows what they would do to her.
I had to stop Lisa.
Before it was too late.
