I was super upset. I didn’t even touch a match, and everyone thinks I’d started the school fire. Ugh!
I tried to talk to Lucia and Nature, even call them, but their phones went straight to voicemail. At least Bubblegum didn’t ignore me, though I’d catch her stealing glances at me pityingly. What was THAT all about?!
But my life did a 360 when Lisa posted the news all over IG!! The captions were- MACKENZIE SPARKLE LIT THE SCHOOL FIRE! 😏🔥
I felt like bursting into tears. How would I ever cope at school again??
At about noon, my mum came into my room.
‘Hey, darling. How are you doing? I brought you some lunch,’ she said, and placed a tray with a burger, cupcake, and some fries.
‘Thanks, Mom,’ I muttered.
She shut my room door. ‘I’m so sorry. I wish I could do something.’ She smiled softly.
‘It’s okay,’ I said.
When she left, I scrambled to grab my phone. Logging in to IG, I saw a new post. It said—
MACKENZIE SPARKLE DIDN’T LIGHT THE FIRE.
BUT I KNOW WHO DID.
I was shocked! Who could have written this?!
Then, like a bomb, I saw a post and recording. The minute it was posted, IG blew up.

FUZZYBUNNY- OMGGGGGGG GUYS WTH?! 😱😱 🤣🤣🤣
I felt like crying!! But who posted this?!
Just then, I got frantic calls from my friends.
I answered Bubblegum’s first. ‘Hey, Bubble! Whoever posted that video is SUPER amazing!’
‘It was me,’ She whispered.
I gasped. ‘WHAT?! OMG, BUBBLEGUM! YOU’RE AMAZING!!!!!’
She looked at me. ‘But..why are you mad at me?’
‘Huh?!’ I said.
‘Mac, Lisa was saying you’re mad at me!’
I chuckled. ‘Have you MET Lisa? Such a liar!’
‘You’re NOT mad at me?!’ She squealed. ‘OMG, BEST day ever!’
I called my other friends, who apologized to me like MAD!
A while later, they came over.
‘Hey,’ They chorused. ‘We got you something!’
They all handed me a book, and I opened it.
’It’s..empty?’ I said, confused.
‘Yes.’ Bubblegum said, and touched her hand on mine, followed by the others.
‘So that you can write your own journey.’
