Scared

Hey guys! It’s Bubblegum, and just yesterday, the craziest thing happened!!
Jasper had been walking with me, when suddenly I turned to him.
‘Jasper..I’ve thought about it, and I accept your proposal.’
The nearby students in the wall clapped and cheered. Everyone had gotten to know about it by Lisa, but the joke was on her. It just made me more popular.
Lisa, who had been walking past with Amy, glared at me angrily and whipped out her phone, angrily typing something.
I didn’t care, though!!
I was ecstatic, and all my friends were, but something was off. After school, when we were hanging out at Mackenzie’s house, it was quiet. Nature sighed. ‘Guys, I have to tell you something.’ She muttered.
‘What, Nature? Spill.’ Mackenzie’s voice was dripping with concern.
‘Well, the other day, Lisa whispered something to me. Something about knowing some cold creepy things. It’s weird.’
‘Eh, it’s probably nothing.’ Lucia chimed in. ‘Lisa’s threatened probably about everyone in this school.’
‘Besides,’ Mackenzie added, playing with a strand of her thick blond hair, ‘Lisa is pretty jealous we have people on our side. It’s no problem. We’ll stick together.’ She smiled.
‘Anyway,’ I smiled, changing the subject. ‘I accepted Jasper’s proposal!!’
‘WHAT?!’ My friends screamed. They congratulated me, and hugged me tightly. Tears dripped from my eyes happily. They were so sweet!!
Mackenzie squealed. ‘When’s the wedding?!’
‘We’re planning to have it in about 2-3 months,’ I admitted. ‘We’re not sure yet, though!’
Mackenzie regarded me carefully. ‘Bubblegum, did you tell your dad??’
Oh shoot! My dad! I had to tell him, obviously!!
They must have seen the shock on my face, because Mackenzie chimed in. ’Maybe break it to him at dinner?’ She suggested.
‘Okay,’ I sighed. ‘Do I do this, guys? Or should I just not accept it and stay with Jasper the way we were?’
Mackenzie looked at me. ‘Do you love him, Bubblegum?’ She asked softly.
‘Yes, of course.’ I sighed.
‘Then do it.’ Nature’s warm hand, followed by the others, were placed on mine. ‘You guys are meant to be. So go for it!’
‘Thanks, guys,’ I murmured.
‘You’re welcome.’ They hugged me tight, and I couldn’t help feeling like I didn’t deserve them.
‘Thanks, guys.’ I smiled. ‘For everything!’
