Hi guys. I’m Coral Park, and when I was 14, I moved to South Croydon from Hawaii. I missed the gorgeous beach, but South Croydon was pretty too!!

Then I joined Crystal High.

I was pretty popular, because of my gorgeous coral blue hair and rare pink eyes! But Lisa, a mean girl with blue eyes and blonde hair has teased me relentlessly, until I’d made new friends. Bubblegum, Lucia, Nature, and Mackenzie. And skip to present, I’d found a guy called Max who’d asked me to Prom. I was so excited!

I was eating lunch with them, in awe of Bubblegum and Jasper’s close relationship. I wished I could be like that with Max!

After school, my friends offered to take me shopping to the same store they’d bought their dresses for Prom. I saw a flash of turquoise, and turned in the direction of it.

Then I saw it.

The most gorgeous dress ever!! It had turquoise blue sequins, and a beautiful hem and it was strapless with an open back.

It was absolutely beautiful! I tried it on, and my friends just stood in shock.

I looked in the mirror and instantly knew I was buying this wonderful dress!!

I rushed home, then called Max.

‘Max, I’ve found the perfect dress!’ I squealed.

‘That’s-uh,-great,’ He stammered. But then I heard a female voice squealing.

‘Max! OMG, Prom is gonna be so fun together!’ I heard the voice giggle.

Wait, what?

‘YOU’RE CHEATING ON ME?!’ I screamed into my phone. Hot tears dripped from my eyes and splattered onto my rug. Hanging up, I sobbed angrily. How dare he!!

When I called my friends, they each grumbled angrily.

‘That jerk,’ Muttered Mackenzie. ‘How COULD he! I’m sorry, Coral!’

Oh well, I just had to find someone else. As the doorbell rung, I rushed to get it. A boy from our school, Aidan, was at the door. I stood in surprise.

‘Hey.’ He brushed his blond hair out of the way, revealing his blue eyes.

‘O-Oh, hey, Aidan. You’re in my science class, right?’

‘Yep. And, uh, Coral..will you go to Prom with me?’

‘W-Wow! Um, sure, Aidan!’ I grinned. I’d liked him since a pretty long time, anyway!!

‘Great.’ His smile widened.

‘Wanna come in?’

’S-Sure!’

We walked up to my room, where we both plopped down onto my bed.

He gazed at me. ‘I’ve liked you since a long time, Coral..’ He said.

‘Me too,’ I whispered shyly.

Brushing a strand of hair from my eyes, he leaned in closer. But at the sound of his car, he stood up.

‘Gotta go. My ride’s here. See you, Coral!’

‘Bye!’

Oh..Aidan was so cool. And if we had our first kiss, it would be a dream!

Later that night, I called my friends while changing into my new dress.

‘Guys, Aidan is really cool! I honestly can’t wait for tonight!’ I giggled.

‘Yeah!’ Mackenzie said. ‘See you at the entrance!’

I hung up, then grabbed my purse and ran to the car, feeling more excited than ever.

As I reached, I saw Aidan, standing near the door. His blond hair was brushed back, his blue eyes sparkled, and he looked so good in his black suit.

‘Hi!’

‘Coral!’ He wrapped his arms around me in a hug.

We headed inside, and I saw the hall filled with balloons, streamers, and gorgeous lights. Tables of food lined the corners, and couples danced around.

‘Shall we?’ He extended his arm toward me.

‘Of course.’ I smiled gratefully to the boy at my side.

As we danced, I was very aware of his face inching closer to mine. He brushed his fingers across my cheek softly, and my heart pounded faster each second until his lips finally met mine.

I could’ve sworn I heard fireworks. My stomach swirled, and everything felt amazing. When he pulled away, I saw my friends beaming at us.

‘Thank you,’ I mouthed to them.

And I truly meant it!
