The Spirit

‘Um, WHAT are you DOING, Jessica?!’ Coral said.
‘Oh…..’ Smirked Jessica. ‘We’ll see!’
Horrified, the girls stood, watching as Jessica’s nails grew as tall as her, her hair went right down to her feet, and her eyes turned bright red.
‘Oh no!’ Coral said.
Jessica laughed evilly and attacked. Afraid, Pearl and Diamond ran to bring Miss Fire.
In the office, Miss Fire exploded at Crystal and Jessica.
‘What the heck, girls! Your behaviour is horrid! Slapping, attacking, cursing…….’
Crystal flared up, and just stormed out of the office.
‘Coral! Miss Fire is horrid!’
‘Here,’ Coral said, and handed Crystal a double chocolate-chip muffin, with cream and sprinkles too. Crystal smiled.
‘How ‘bout a ride, eh, Crystal? It’ll take your mind off it!’
Crystal and Coral rode and talked until the sun went down.
The next day, though, the four girls saw Jessica walk out during break time. They followed her, all geared up with binoculars and suits and rope.
Hiding, they saw Jessica disappear, and a spirit appeared. It was a girl, in a long white flowing dress and cornflower in her long brown hair.
‘Oh, we shall get there, yes, on this new path, Jessica. We will learn and take it over, we will go and explore things.’
They stood there, puzzled. Jessica re-appeared, tears streaming down her face.
Then she jumped.
She jumped off the highest tower ever, The Balcony, and landed.
At the funeral, even the four girls missed her.
‘Oh, that evil SPIRIT!’ Coral hissed.
Crystal wiped her face. She shrugged, then sighed. The year was almost ending, and it had been so hectic. This had been her last year at Dragon Academy. She thought back to 5 years ago, when she and her friends first met and then saw the academy.
But as she packed her bags, she was overcome with joy. She HAD completed the year, right? She should be proud.
‘Bye, Dragon Academy,’ She whispered. ‘Goodbye.’
